All About Anne

My Experience and Approach

I bring a flexible, individualized approach to our work, with a relational and client-centered lens informed by Control Mastery Theory, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness practices. That means we might look into your past relationships and beliefs, work on building preferred habits and coping skills, befriend different "parts" of you that may be pushing you in different directions, or start rewriting some of the stories you tell yourself about your life — all depending on your unique preferences, needs and strengths.

Who I Work With

  • I work with a wide range of folks, including activists, academics, c-suite professionals, healthcare professionals, caregivers and creatives. While I focus on midlife issues, I work with adults of all ages.

  • I'm passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, especially those coming out later in life.

  • I love working with neurodivergent adults with later-in-life diagnoses, or folks who suspect ADHD or autism without a formal diagnosis.

  • Women experiencing midlife transformations are some of my favorite clients.

  • I'm kink-aware, sex-positive, and experienced supporting clients who practice ethical non-monogamy and/or polyamory.

My Credentials

  • MSW, Clinical Social Work, Portland State University

  • PhD, Program in Culture, History and Theory, Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts, Emory University

    • Coursework in psychoanalytic studies, critical theory and a certificate in Women's Studies

  • Post-graduate clinical training includes EMDR basic training, an Internal Family Systems (IFS) intensive, and currently undergoing certification in adult ADHD treatment and mindfulness-based ecotherapy.

  • Oregon LCSW license #L18708.

My Identities

As a white, middle-aged, divorced, queer woman, I bring my own history of transformation to our work. Along the way, my career has spanned roles as a college professor, organizational DEI consultant, and psychotherapist. Gen-X, feminist, and a little bit "woo"— that's who will show up in the room with you. Portland is my home, shared with my cats, an inherited Steinway, a chaos garden, and a stack of overdue library books.
